The Korean Statistical Society was founded in 1971:-
... for the purpose of the development of statistics and research in related fields.
The Society holds statistical conferences twice a year, in the spring and autumn. Beginning in 1982 it organised joint conferences with foreign statistics societies, the first being the Korea/Japan Joint Statistical Meeting.
The Society publishes three statistical journals: the Journal of the Korean Statistical Society; the Korean Journal of Applied Statistics; and The Korean Communication in Statistics. Publication of these journals began in 1973, 1987 and 1994 respectively.
The Society is organised into seven research sections: Industrial Statistics; Bayesian statistics; Surveys; Biostatistics; Statistical Computing; Statistical Education and Consulting; and Official Statistics.
