Tullio Levi-Civita

Tullio Levi-Civita was an Italian mathematician who is best known for his work on the absolute differential calculus. He published the theory of tensors in a form which was used by Einstein in his theory of relativity. He had problems later in his life with the rise of Fascism in Italy. He became an honorary member of the EMS in 1930. | |||||||||||||||||
